Recognition, appreciation and approval are rewards and emotions we all enjoy. In fact, recognition is one of the leading motivators that cause us to act. Recognize your patients with a referral plaque and personal recognition ceremony and I guarantee more people will refer more patients more often.

After a patient has referred two people to your office you should honor them with a recognition plaque and ceremony. When the patient comes in for their appointment have a ceremony in your reception room in front of the other patients. Say to the patient: "In recognition of your unselfish devotion to helping others find improved health with chiropractic care I present to you this award of honor." You should have two plaques made. Tell the patient the plaque is for them to keep and you have one to hang on your Wall of Fame for others to appreciate.

The plaque reads as follows:
Your Chiropractic Clinic
Award of Honor
Presented To
John Smith
Who has given loving guidance
to those desiring improved
health through chiropractic care.

To jump start the program go through your files and find the last 10-15 people who referred two or more patients to your office. Purchase plaques for these people and hang on your Wall of Fame. When your patients see your Wall of Fame they will ask how they can get a plaque with their name on it. When they find out all it takes is two referrals they will immediately start to think of who they can refer.
